The oyster knife blade is made of 134 cm tool stainless steel. The blade is mirror finished, hardened to Rockwell 60, then tempered for toughness. This process results in a blade that you can put extra effort into without fear that it will break. While all ture steel will rust to some degree, the process results in very little oxidation.
